Brow Perfection: Your Aftercare Guide

Cosmetic tattooing NZ

Congratulations on your journey to beautiful, lasting brows with The Brow Palette! To ensure that your new look stays fabulous, it's crucial to follow the right aftercare practices. Here's your complete guide to post-treatment care.

Cosmetic Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

Immediate Aftercare (Day of the Procedure):

  1. Cleanse & Apply Prescribed Cream Regularly: Half an hour after the treatment, the eyebrows should be cleansed with lukewarm water and bathroom soap and then a thin layer of the cream your technician gave you should be applied. Repeat this procedure every 2-3 hours to prevent the formation of scabs.

  2. Keep Them Dry: Avoid getting your brows wet for at least 7-10 days after the procedure. No swimming, excessive sweating, or having your face directly under the shower head during this period.

Days 2-7:

  1. Gentle Cleansing: On the following days, clean your brows gently using a mild, unscented soap. Pat them dry with a clean tissue or cotton pad and then apply a thin layer of aftercare cream. Repeat morning and night.

  2. No Touching: Avoid touching your brows with dirty hands to prevent contamination.

  3. Protection from the Sun: Shield your fresh brows from direct sunlight, and always wear a hat if you go outside.

  4. No Makeup: Refrain from using makeup, creams, or lotions on or around your brows during the healing process.

  5. No Excessive Sweating: Avoid activities that lead to excessive sweating.

Week 2 Onward:

  1. No Exfoliation: Avoid exfoliating your brows while they're healing.

  2. Gentle Cleansing: You can gradually return to your regular cleansing routine.

  3. Do Not: Receive any beauty therapy treatments until the skin has fully healed or use any AHA or RetinA products, as well as any anti-biotic creams on the brow area (these products will fade the pigment colour).

  4. Sun Protection: Do not expose the treated area to excessive sunlight or tanning treatments until the skin is fully healed.

Long-Term Care (Beyond Week 2):

  1. Sun Protection: Always apply sunscreen to your brows when spending time outdoors to prevent fading.

  2. Maintenance Appointments: Plan for touch-up sessions as recommended by your technician to keep your brows looking their best.

Important Notes:

Healing Time: The full healing process can take up to 4-6 weeks. Be patient, and let your skin recover naturally.

  • Itching or Peeling: Some itching and peeling is normal during the healing phase. Do NOT touch, as this can disrupt the pigment.

  • Colour Change: Your brows may appear darker immediately after the procedure, but the colour will lighten as they heal.

  • Swelling: Mild swelling can occur and should subside within a day or two.

  • When to Consult Your Technician: If you experience any unusual redness, excessive swelling, or signs of infection, consult your technician or a healthcare professional.

Following these aftercare instructions will help you maintain stunning brows that last. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns during your healing process. We're here to support you every step of the way on your journey to brow perfection!
